للترويج لسلطنة عمان كوجهة لرياضة المغامرات .. تعاون مشترك بين ماراثون الموج مسقط ووزارة التراث والسياحة

أعلن كل من وزارة التراث والسياحة وسابكو للرياضة عن تعاون مشترك في فعالية ماراثون الموج مسقط لزيادة نطاق الحدث والترويج لسلطنة عمان كوجهة رياضية عامة وخاصة في مجال رياضة المغامرات. يقام الماراثون والذي يُعد أكبر حدث رياضي في سلطنة عمان في الفترة من 26 إلى 27 يناير 2024، وقد ازدادت شعبية الماراثون ليصبح أكبر حدث رياضي في سلطنة عمان خلال السنوات الماضية، ويستمر بنجاح في سعيه لجذب جمهور عالمي يبحث عن تجارب سياحية مثيرة.
وصرّح هيثم بن محمد الغساني مدير عام الترويج السياحي بوزارة التراث والسياحة قائلاً: “شهد قطاع السياحة نموًا إيجابيًا ملحوظًا خلال العام 2023م، ونتوقع استمرار هذه النمو خلال الفترة القادمة لنصل إلى مرحلة التعافي، وتعتبر الفعاليات السياحية الرياضية واحدة من البرامج الترويجية الهامة التي تتبانها وزارة التراث والسياحة لتنشيط الحركة السياحية إلى سلطنة عمان، وسيكون ماراثون الموج من أهم الفعاليات السياحية في روزنامة الفعاليات الخاصة بالوزارة للعام 2024م، والذي سيتم الترويج له عبر المنصات والأدوات الترويجية الخاصة بالوزارة وذلك بهدف زيادة التدفق السياحي لسلطنة عمان من خلال استقطاب المشاركين الدوليين إلى جانب مشاركة المتسابقين من داخل سلطنة عمان، إلى جانب إبراز التنوع المتاح والتجارب السياحية ومناسبة طبيعتها لتنظيم مختلف أنواع الفعاليات السياحية، وتحقيق عوائد ترويجية واقتصادية واجتماعية كنتائج مباشرة من تنظيم مثل هذه الأحداث السياحية الرياضية.
من جانبه قال علي العجمي المدير العام لشركة سابكو للرياضة الجهة المنظمة لماراثون الموج مسقط الحدث الرياضي الأكبر في سلطنة عمان: “نحن فخورون جداً بالتعاون مع وزارة التراث والسياحة، ومتحمسون لإبراز سلطنة عُمان كوجهة سياحية مميزة لجماهير جديدة وتشجيع المزيد من المشاركين على زيارة هذا البلد المذهل والاستمتاع بجميع مقوماته السياحية المبهرة على المستوى العالمي.
ومع طبيعتها الساحرة، وسحرها الأصيل، والمرافق عالمية المستوى، تستمر سلطنة عُمان في بناء سمعة كوجهة جاذبة للسياح المحليين والدوليين، ويمكن لمثل هذا التعاون أن يلعب دوراً بارزاً في استمرار تطور قطاع السياحة المزدهر في السنوات المقبلة”.
يتم تنظيم الماراثون بواسطة شركة سابكو للرياضة ويستضيفه الموج مسقط، الوجهة الرائدة للرفاهية ونمط الحياة في سلطنة عمان والراعي الرئيسي للحدث، ويتضمن خمس فئات سباق تشمل سباقات الأطفال لمسافة 1 كيلومتر و2 كيلومتر و3 كيلومتر، بالإضافة إلى سباق نصف الماراثون والماراثون الكامل وسباق ١٠ كيلو متر و٥ كيلو متر. سيحصل جميع المشاركين على قميص رياضي تقني وميدالية للاحتفال بإنجازهم.
من المتوقع مشاركة نحو 12,000 عداءاً من مختلف أنحاء العالم للاستمتاع بالأجواء الفريدة للسباق وقضاء عطلة نهاية أسبوع مليئة بالمرح في الموج مسقط.

عن ماراثون الموج مسقط:
نظمته جمعية “مسقط رود رنرز” لأول مرة في عام 2012 بمشاركة 135 متنافساً، وسرعان ما نما ماراثون مسقط في شهرته. في عام 2017، أصبح الحدث معروفاً باسم “ماراثون الموج مسقط” بالتعاون بين الموج مسقط، وجهة عمان الرائدة لنمط الحياة، وعمان للإبحار، وجمعية “مسقط رود رنرز”.
وفي عام 2019، تم توثيق مسارات الماراثون والتتابع ونصف الماراثون وسباق 10 كم جميعها من قِبل AIMS، المنظمة العالمية للجري، مما جعل الحدث يتناسب مع معايير الاتحاد الدولي لألعاب القوى. أُقيمت النسخة الأخيرة بمشاركة ما يقرب من 12000 عداء في ست فئات عبر مهرجان جري استمر ليومين. بمشاركة 103 جنسيات مختلفة، مما عزز سمعة الماراثون كحدث رياضي بارز في تقويم سلطنة عمان الرياضي. تم إلغاء الحدث في عام 2021 بسبب جائحة فيروس كورونا، لكنه عاد في عام 2022 تحت إدارة شركة سابكو للرياضة بهدف إعادة إشعال شغف عمان بأسلوب حياة نشط وخلق تجارب لا تُنسى.

Al Mouj Muscat Marathon and Ministry of Heritage and Tourism join forces to promote Oman as the next great adventure sports destination

Muscat, Oman: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has partnered with Sabco Sports to increase the reach of the event and promote Oman’s potential to become the next great sports and adventure tourism destination. Scheduled on 26-27 of January, the event has grown to become Oman’s biggest run and now aims to capture a growing global audience seeking exciting tourism experiences.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al-Ghasani, the Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, affirmed, “The tourism sector experienced remarkable growth in 2023, and we foresee the continuation of this positive trend. Sports tourism events constitute a fundamental strategic pillar embraced by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to enhance inbound tourist traffic to the Sultanate of Oman. The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon holds a prominent position in the ministry’s tourism calendar for 2024, serving as a catalyst for attracting international participants, alongside the active participation of local runners from across the Sultanate. Our enduring objective is to showcase Oman’s culture, beauty, and unique experiences, emphasizing its capacity to host a diverse array of tourism events to appeal to various types of travelers. Organised by Sabco Sports and hosted by Al Mouj Muscat, Oman’s premier destination and title sponsor of the event, there are five race categories to choose from ranging from 1km, 2km and 3km Kids’ Runs to a half- and full marathon. All finishers will receive a tech t-shirt and a medal to celebrate their achievement.
Over 12,000 runners of all ages are expected, with registrations flowing in from across the nation and around the world to experience the unique atmosphere of the race and spend a fun-filled weekend at Al Mouj Muscat.
Registration is currently open in all five race categories with promotional rates available for a limited time through the official website, www.muscatmarathon.om.

About Al Mouj Muscat Marathon
First organized by Muscat Road Runners in 2012 with 135 competitors, Muscat Marathon has quickly grown in stature. In 2017, the event became known as the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon with Al Mouj Muscat, Oman’s premier lifestyle destination, Oman Sail and Muscat Road Runners joining forces.
Fast-forward to 2019 and the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon and 10km routes were all certified by world-running organization AIMS, aligning the event with International Association of Athletic Federation (IAAF) standards. The Charity Fun Run 5km saw thousands of runners raise money for good causes and the Kids’ Run sold out in record time!
The last edition hosted just under 12000 runners competing in six race categories across a two-day festival of running. 103 different nationalities were represented, furthering the marathon’s reputation as the most iconic event on the Sultanate of Oman’s sporting calendar. The event had to be cancelled in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic but returns in 2022 under the management of Sabco Sports with the aim of reigniting Oman’s passion for an active lifestyle and creating memorable experiences.
