The name of Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) is mentioned nine times in the Qur’an. Allah sent His Prophet Salih to the tribe of Thamud, who were among the Arab peoples living in Al‑Hijr in the north of the. Their Arabian Peninsula Their monuments (remains) are still there today and are known as Madain Saleh
Allah sent Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) to the people of Thamud to call them to worship Allah alone. His people asked him for a sign proving that he was truthful. They demanded that he bring forth for them a pregnant she-camel from a solid rock, and they themselves specified the rock.
prophet Salih agreed on the condition that they would believe in him. He prayed to his Lord, and Allah granted what they asked. The she-camel emerged and later gave birth.

The people had a well from which they drank water. Prophet Salih designated one day for the she-camel and her calf to drink from the well, and another day for the people. On the day when the she-camel drank, they would milk her and fill their containers and vessels with her milk.
However, they became greedy and wanted exclusive use of the well every day. Because they denied Prophet Salih and despite his warning not to harm the she-camel of Allah, they killed her. Allah then became angry with them and sent a mighty blast from above them and an earthquake from beneath them.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا* إِذِ انبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا* فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّـهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا* فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا
Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,
When the most wretched of them was sent forth.
And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, “[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink.”
But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].
And He does not fear the consequence thereof
) Summary:

The she-camel of Prophet Salih was a clear miracle for his people. He instructed them to drink from the well on one day and leave it for the she-camel on the next day so they could benefit from her milk. But they disobeyed the prophet and killed her, so Allah destroyed them
