In a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties between India and Egypt, a high-level delegation led by the Director General of Pharmexcil, Mr. Raja Bhanu, and supported by H.E. Shri Suresh K. Reddy, IFS, Ambassador of India to Egypt, today engaged with key stakeholders in Egypt’s growing pharmaceutical sector. The event, aimed at deepening collaboration between the two nations in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, marks a pivotal moment in the strengthening of trade and investment ties.
The Indian delegation, which includes prominent figures from the pharmaceutical industry, seeks to explore and expand opportunities for joint ventures, technology sharing, and capacity-building in Egypt’s thriving pharmaceutical market. The Egyptian market, forecasted to grow from USD 5.1 billion in 2024-25 to USD 5.7 billion in 2025-26, presents a wealth of opportunities, particularly in the areas of generics, biosimilars, and vaccines, where India excels.
H.E. Shri Suresh K. Reddy, IFS, Ambassador of India to Egypt, expressed his optimism about the growing relationship between the two countries, “India has long been a trusted partner in the global pharmaceutical industry, and Egypt’s dynamic healthcare sector presents an ideal opportunity for enhanced cooperation. The Embassy is committed to facilitating partnerships between Indian pharmaceutical companies and their Egyptian counterparts, ensuring that the benefits of our collaboration are felt not only in our two countries but across the broader MENA region.”
During the event, Mr. Raja Bhanu, Director General of Pharmexcil, highlighted the immense potential for India to support Egypt’s pharmaceutical growth. “India’s pharmaceutical industry is renowned for its ability to provide high-quality, affordable medicines. As Egypt continues to expand its healthcare coverage and local manufacturing capabilities, Indian companies are well-positioned to collaborate with Egyptian firms, contributing to the shared goal of ensuring access to essential healthcare products for all citizens,” said Mr. Bhanu.
The collaboration aims to focus on a wide range of areas, including generic medicines, clinical research, biotechnology, and vaccine production. Both nations aim to explore joint ventures in pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D, helping Egypt become a hub for pharmaceutical trade and production. The event marked the beginning of several initiatives intended to drive investments, foster knowledge exchange, and accelerate progress in healthcare innovation.
The Embassy of India and Pharmexcil will continue to work together to support the growth of India-Egypt partnerships, ensuring that both nations benefit from the shared knowledge, expertise, and opportunities available within the pharmaceutical industry.

الهند ومصر تبذلان جهداً مشتركاً لتنمية وتطوير قطاع الصناعات الدوائية

القاهرة، مصر، 12 يناير 2026 – في خطوة مهمة لتعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين الهند ومصر، التقى اليوم وفد رفيع المستوى برئاسة المدير العام لمجلس ترويج صادرات الأدوية الهندية (Pharmexcil)، السيد/ راجا بانو، وبدعم من سعادة السفير السيد/ سوريش كيه. ريدي، سفير الهند لدى مصر، مع عدد من الشخصيات البارزة في قطاع الصناعات الدوائية المصري. ويهدف هذا اللقاء إلى تعزيز التعاون بين البلدين في مجالي الرعاية الصحية والصناعات الدوائية، ويمثل محطة محورية في تعزيز الروابط التجارية والاستثمارية.
ويضم الوفد الهندي شخصيات بارزة من قطاع صناعة الدواء الهندية، ويسعى إلى استكشاف وتنمية الفرص المتاحة في مجال إقامة المشروعات المشتركة، وتبادل التكنولوجيا، وبناء القدرات في سوق الدواء المصري المزدهر. وتشير التوقعات إلى نمو حجم السوق المصري من 5.1 مليارات دولار أمريكي في عام 2024-2025 إلى 5.7 مليارات دولار أمريكي في عام 2025-2026، ما يتيح فرصًا هائلة، وخاصة في مجالات الأدوية البديلة، والمستحضرات الحيوية المشابهة، واللقاحات، وهي مجالات تتمتع فيها الهند بخبرة متميزة.
وأعرب سعادة السفير السيد/ سوريش كيه. ريدي، سفير الهند لدى مصر، عن تفاؤله إزاء تنامي العلاقات بين البلدين، قائلًا: “لطالما كانت الهند شريكًا موثوقًا في صناعة الأدوية العالمية، ويوفر قطاع الرعاية الصحية الحيوي في مصر فرصة ملائمة لتعزيز التعاون. وتعمل السفارة على تسهيل عقد الشراكات بين شركات الأدوية الهندية ونظيرتها المصرية، وذلك حتى تعم فوائد هذا التعاون ليس فقط على بلدينا، بل على منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا بأسرها.”
وخلال اللقاء، قام السيد/ راجا بانو، المدير العام لمجلس ترويج صادرات الأدوية الهندية، بتسليط الضوء على الفرص الهائلة لما يمكن أن تقدمه الهند لدعم نمو قطاع الصناعات الدوائية في مصر، قائلًا: “تشتهر صناعة الأدوية الهندية بقدرتها على توفير أدوية عالية الجودة وبأسعار معقولة. ومع استمرار مصر في توسيع مظلة الرعاية الصحية وتعزيز قدراتها التصنيعية المحلية، تعد الشركات الهندية في وضع يؤهلها للتعاون مع الشركات المصرية، بما يسهم في تحقيق الهدف المشترك لضمان توفير منتجات الرعاية الصحية الأساسية لجميع المواطنين.”
ويهدف التعاون إلى التركيز على مجموعة واسعة من المجالات، بما في ذلك الأدوية البديلة، والبحوث الإكلينيكية، والتكنولوجيا الحيوية، وإنتاج اللقاحات. ويسعى كلا البلدان إلى بحث فرص إقامة مشروعات مشتركة في مجالات التصنيع الدوائي والبحث والتطوير، بما يساعد مصر على أن تصبح مركزًا لتجارة وإنتاج الدواء. وكانت هذه الفعالية فرصة لإطلاق عدد من المبادرات الرامية إلى دفع الاستثمارات، وتعزيز تبادل الخبرات، ودعم الابتكار في مجال الرعاية الصحية.
وستواصل سفارة الهند ومجلس ترويج صادرات الأدوية الهندية العمل معًا لزيادة فرص الشراكة بين الهند ومصر، بما يضمن استفادة البلدين من المعارف والخبرات والفرص المشتركة في قطاع الصناعات الدوائية.
نبذة عن مجلس ترويج صادرات الأدوية الهندية: يُعد المجلس أعلى جهة معنية بترويج صادرات قطاع الأدوية والمستحضرات الدوائية والرعاية الصحية في الهند. ويضطلع المجلس، الذي تأسس من قبل وزارة التجارة والصناعة بحكومة الهند، بدور محوري في تعزيز صادرات الأدوية الهندية، ودعم المصدّرين، وزيادة الوصول إلى الأسواق، وتحقيق الريادة العالمية في قطاع الأدوية. ويهدف المجلس، الذي يضم أكثر من 4679 عضوًا، إلى مساعدة أعضائه على تحقيق التميز في الصادرات وتسهيل تواصل المشترين من خارج الهند مع شركاء تجاريين مناسبين من صناعة الدواء الهندية.
